David A. Alpert is a key member of KBK’s expert legal team with experience representing clients in complex commercial disputes, white collar defense matters, and internal and government investigations. He provides clients with strategic counsel at every stage of high-stakes litigation, from pre-suit strategy through trial preparation.

Before joining KBK, Mr. Alpert served as an associate with Covington & Burling LLP. In that role, he first-chaired numerous depositions and handled all aspects of trial preparation in numerous significant matters, including defending a client against a nearly billion-dollar claim. He also led and contributed to internal and government investigations before various government agencies, including analyzing sensitive client materials and drafting presentations of findings for a high-profile white-collar investigation involving national security issues.

Mr. Alpert earned his J.D. and M.B.A. from Columbia Law School and Columbia Business School, where he was named both a James Kent Scholar and a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar, and where he also served as Media Editor of the Columbia Law Review.

Outside of the courtroom, Mr. Alpert maintains a deep commitment to pro bono service. He secured the release of an incarcerated client by preparing and counseling him through five successive parole hearings over four years, and, through the International Refugee Assistance Project, helped relocate an Afghan translator and four of his family members to safety.
