Tia S. Baheri is a key member of the KBK legal team who has extensive experience litigating high-stakes cases in both federal and state court. She has represented noteworthy clients in various industries and a range of legal areas, including copyright, trademark, complex commercial disputes, constitutional law, and criminal matters.

Ms. Baheri has successfully managed cases in all stages of litigation. She has handled filing and responding to complaints, dispositive motion practice, written discovery and depositions, and court arguments. She maintains an active pro bono practice with a focus on criminal justice reform. She is also fluent in Farsi, and proficient in French and German.

Intellectual property

  • Settled numerous copyright infringement disputes on favorable terms to studios.
  • Represented a studio in a copyright suit brought by a former writer.
  • Represented a start-up in a trademark infringement suit brought by a major public company.

Pro Bono

  • Served on a team that challenged cash bail policies in Los Angeles County, including examination of witnesses during preliminary injunction proceedings.
  • Served on a team that litigated a major civil rights case against the City and County of San Francisco arising out of racially discriminatory arrests.
  • Represented the ACLU of Northern California in California Records Act requests against law enforcement agencies.
