June 2022 – Chambers and Partners, a prestigious legal ranking organization often referred to as ‘the gold-standard’ in recognizing outstanding legal talent, recognized Kendall Brill & Kelly LLP and seven of its attorneys among the best in California and the nation in 2022.
The firm was recognized as a leader in litigation in the areas of White Collar Defense and Government Investigations and Media and Entertainment Litigation. Chambers also recognized KBK partners Laura W. Brill, Bert H. Deixler, Robert Edward Dugdale, Philip M. Kelly, Richard B. Kendall, Janet I. Levine, and Jeffrey H. Rutherford.
In its rankings, Chambers noted that KBK has “considerable strength” in its White Collar and Government Investigations practice, and that its lawyers possess “vast experience defending clients against a diverse array of claims including corruption and securities and healthcare fraud.”
The publication went on to say that KBK’s Media and Entertainment Litigation practice represents “sizable media and entertainment companies, including major motion picture studios and top broadcasters,” and that it is “experienced in handling disputes about entertainment finance, content production, and distribution as well as intellectual property claims.
In acknowledging the firm’s individual attorneys, Chambers & Partners honored certified appellate specialist Ms. Brill for her “notable expertise” in intellectual property disputes, constitutional matters, and regulatory issues. The rankings recognized Mr. Deixler’s breadth of experience and highlighted his four-plus decades of work in the entertainment field, while honoring Mr. Kendall for his representation of “top-echelon clients” in “high-stakes litigation.”
It recognized Philip M. Kelly for his contributions to the firm’s Media and Entertainment practice for the first time this year and quoted a client who remarked that “he does quality work and we are in perfect hands when working with him.”Chambers honored Mr. Dugdale for his White Collar Defense and Government Investigations work, quoting one client as saying, “he’s an incredible courtroom lawyer.”
Ms. Levine was also recognized nationally as an “impressive performer in a wide range of white-collar criminal matters” for her expertise as a Trial Lawyer, as well as being recognized for her work in White Collar Crime and Government Investigations. The publication recognized Mr. Rutherford for his “extensive trial experience” and quoted a client describing him as a “master of strategy.”
