June 2024 – Kendall Brill & Kelly LLP is pleased to announce that former Assistant U.S. Attorney Jeff Chemerinsky has joined KBK as a partner, where he will draw on his 15 years of civil- and criminal-trial attorney experience to enhance and expand the firm’s high-stakes commercial and white-collar defense trial practices.

Before joining KBK, Mr. Chemerinsky worked at the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Los Angeles for nearly a decade and most recently served as Chief of the Violent and Organized Crime Section. In that role, Mr. Chemerinsky spearheaded a wide range of sophisticated cases ranging from RICO murder cases to financial crimes and corruption offenses and tried 16 high-profile cases to verdict.

Mr. Chemerinsky left the U.S. Attorney’s Office to make a bid to represent the people of Los Angeles County as the Los Angeles County’s District Attorney. His campaign won broad support from both current and former elected officials and numerous leading community and business organizations.

Mr. Chemerinsky received numerous awards for his service in the U.S. Attorney’s Office, including the prestigious U.S. Department of Justice’s Director’s Award for Superior Performance as a U.S. Attorney. He was also honored by several law enforcement agencies, including the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Department of Homeland Security, and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives for his tremendous work and collaboration.

In addition, he is a two-time recipient of the U.S. Attorney’s Office Victim Service Award, which honors individuals, organizations, teams, and programs that work in support of victims and survivors of crime.

Mr. Chemerinsky served as a law clerk for the Honorable George H. King, U.S. District Court Judge for the Central District of California, and the Honorable Robert H. Henry, Chief Judge for the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit. He received his law degree, magna cum laude, from Duke Law School, where he was Editor-in-Chief of the Duke Law Journal.
