August 2019 – The state’s largest legal publication, the Daily Journal, today honored Kendall Brill & Kelly LLP Partner Patrick J. Somers as one of California’s Top 40 attorneys under the age of 40. In recognizing Mr. Somers’ talents, the publication noted that he is “busier than ever, working on a number of high-profile entertainment matters.”

The Daily Journal singled out his work in securing a dismissal for all defendants in a complaint alleging injuries on the set of a television series. It also cited Mr. Somers’ role as co-lead counsel for a major talent agency in a case that is “as high-profile as it gets,” the dispute between talent agencies and the Writers Guild of America over packaging fees. “Even with the heavy caseload,” the Daily Journal noted that Mr. Somers “finds time for pro bono work,” including serving on the Western Center on Law and Poverty Board and representing a transgender woman inmate who alleges she was sexually assaulted by a male correctional officer in an Arizona prison.
