December 2022 – California’s leading legal publication, the Daily Journal, has recognized Kendall Brill & Kelly LLP Partner Robert Edward Dugdale for the third year in a row as one of the state’s Top White Collar Lawyers.

The publication’s exclusive list of leading white collar lawyers is issued annually and honors a small group of California’s best white collar criminal defense attorneys.

In its profile honoring Mr. Dugdale, the Journal noted his “busy caseload” this past year despite the challenges of COVID-19. He told the Journal that “the pandemic certainly hasn’t lightened the load” in regard to white collar criminal cases, and that previously stymied investigations “are proceeding again and grand juries are back in action.”

In particular, the publication highlighted Mr. Dugdale’s representation of Los Angeles County’s Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) in a highly publicized and controversial case involving former L.A. County Sherriff Alex Villanueva’s criminal investigation into allegations of no-bid contracts with a charitable organization by MTA and retired Supervisor Sheila Kuehl.

A former federal prosecutor who previously served as Chief Assistant U.S. Attorney for Trials, Integrity, and Professionalism and, prior to that, the Chief of the Criminal Division, Mr. Dugdale is widely recognized as one of the state’s best trial lawyers. His Daily Journal recognition follows several recent honors, including being named including being named among the Best Lawyers in America for Criminal Defense: White-Collar and his prestigious ranking among Chambers and Partners USA in Litigation: White-Collar Crime & Government Investigations.
