August 2025 – Kendall Brill & Kelly LLP is pleased to announce that Xiaorui Yang has joined the firm. Mr. Yang joins KBK with experience representing clients in matters involving data privacy, cybersecurity, and antitrust law both in the United States and abroad, further enhancing KBK’s complex litigation and international counsel practices.

During his time directly prior as an associate at a major international law firm’s D.C. office, Mr. Yang played a key role in multiple privacy class action lawsuits, conducted internal investigations for a healthcare system in response to cybersecurity incidents, and provided legal support in regulatory investigations. His experience includes briefing critical trial motions, including motions to dismiss, preliminary injunctions, and Daubert challenges. He has also advised on parallel litigation, settlement strategy, and cross-defendant indemnification. On appeal, he has represented clients in matters involving constitutional challenges, contract disputes, and interpretation of regulations. Previously, he served as a law clerk to the Honorable Andrew J. Kleinfeld of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.

Mr. Yang also brings a valuable international perspective to KBK’s practice. Before embarking on his legal career in the United States, he worked as a Senior Foreign Legal Consultant for the same major international firm in China. In that role, he helped multinational companies investigate alleged misconduct in their Chinese operation and defended U.S. and Chinese companies in transnational litigation. He is a native Mandarin speaker and well-versed in both Chinese culture and its legal system.

Mr. Yang earned his Juris Doctor from Northwestern Pritzker School of Law, where he served as Articles Editor of the Northwestern University Law Review. He also holds a J.D. from the University of Hong Kong Faculty of Law.
