August 2020 – Seven Kendall Brill & Kelly LLP attorneys have been honored as being among The Best Lawyers in America© in its 2021 edition. Two KBK partners, Laura W. Brill and Bert H. Deixler, were also named “Lawyers of the Year,” a category that recognizes less than 5% of all practicing lawyers and only one lawyer per region and specialty.
The 2021 edition also honors KBK attorneys Robert L. Corbin, Robert E. Dugdale, Richard B. Kendall, Janet I. Levine, and Jeffrey H. Rutherford for their work.
Ms. Brill, who was honored by Best Lawyers in its 2020 edition as a First Amendment Litigation “Lawyer of the Year” in Los Angeles, earned special recognition in the 2021 edition as Media Law “Lawyer of the Year” in Los Angeles. Ms. Brill was also listed among 2021 Best Lawyers in Appellate Practice, Entertainment Law – Motion Pictures and Television, Litigation – First Amendment, and Media Law.
Mr. Deixler was honored in the 2021 edition as a Bet-the-Company Litigation “Lawyer of the Year” for his work. Mr. Deixler also received additional honors in the following categories: Bet-the-Company Litigation, Commercial Litigation, Entertainment Law – Motion Pictures and Television, Entertainment Law – Music, and Litigation – Intellectual Property.
The publication recognized Mr. Corbin for his work in the categories of Commercial Litigation and Criminal Defense: White Collar. Mr. Kendall is honored for his skills in three categories: Bet-the-Company Litigation, Commercial Litigation, and Entertainment Law: Motion Pictures and Television. Ms. Levine received recognition for her work in Commercial Litigation, Criminal Defense: General Practice, and Criminal Defense: White Collar. Mr. Dugdale and Mr. Rutherford were both named to the Best Lawyers list for their work in Criminal Defense: White-Collar.
Best Lawyers says its annual selections are based “entirely on peer review,” and its results are designed to capture “the consensus opinion of leading lawyers.”
